Autism Speaks Walk: Please donate to Team Peace Crane
August 13, 2010 - 11:59

Hey, everyone. It's that time of year again when we raise money for Autism Research.
I'm not sure how many people know our daughter is on the autistic spectrum and has some pretty significant challenges. And yet, with support and help (and let's not forget money) she has been able to do well. In fact she won the Nantucket Teen Poetry slam last week.
We walk to raise money for those families who have not been as fortunate as we have been.
Our team is called team peace crane for a few reasons. First, peace seems to be a rare commodity these days. Second, our daughter Madi is really into origami and has folded well over 4,000 cranes. Maybe more.
If you'd like to help out and join us, my personal page is here:
http://www.walknowforautismspeaks.org/nantucket/grant_sanders
Everyone who walks with us will receive a Team Peace Crane t-shirt or tank top (while supplies last!). I just ordered a couple dozen in different sizes, colors, etc. This is known as a bribe. But it's for a good cause.

Please join us! Grant.

PS: I'm going to be bugging the hell out of everyone about this for the next week. Fair warning.

The Minke wore the "Autism Speaks" banner with honor last week putting around the harbor for the day. Most of the kids onboard had a turn at the wheel while enjoying some ice cream during their trip. Great bunch of kids.
