Eureka CA
October 21, 2010 - 07:05
After 40 something years on Nantucket, I made the move to northern CA (Mendocino County) a few years ago.
I was up in Eureka (harbor) and espied a banner advertising harbor cruises on a boat named, "Nantucket Eureka" in what is called Madaket Harbor up there.
I could not get any information from the locals about any association (if there is any) between there and Nantucket MA.

A native of Nantucket named Walter Coggeshall built an empire with this activity (transportation and timber shipping) with his Coggeshall Launch and Tow Boat Company. He also had a boat called the M.V. Madaket.
Theodora M Coggeshall, 83, comes up on an internet search for "Nantucket Coggeshall"
and then there's this
